2日晚间起,受静稳、高湿、逆温等不利气象条件影响,辽宁中部、关中地区率先出现小时重度污染;3日,污染范围扩大,东至山东半岛、西至陕西关中地区、南至河南、北至辽宁和内蒙古中部,四川盆地和新疆西北部也出现污染,总体程度为中到重度,首要污染物为。

国家环境保护城市空气颗粒物污染防治重点实验室主任、南开大学环境科学与工程学院教授冯银厂认为,一是大气扩散能力弱,导致污染物持续累积;二是相对湿度高,导致气态污染物向快速转化。全国中东部、陕西关中、四川盆地、内蒙古中部、宁夏北部和新疆西北部等地区相对湿度高于60%,局地接近饱和并出现大雾,促进了气态污染物的二次转化。

针对本次污染过程,各地提前发布重污染天气预警信息并启动应急响应,京津冀及周边地区、汾渭平原、东北地区中,53个城市启动橙色预警,16个城市启动黄色预警。应急减排措施主要包括工业企业应急管控、禁止高排放车辆运输等。
